What We Do

What we do
At our core, we are dedicated to improving housing accessibility, ensuring fairness in housing policies, supporting rental assistance programs, promoting climate-conscious initiatives, advancing research, and fostering collaboration with HUD. Through our comprehensive services, we aim to create sustainable, equitable, and supportive communities for individuals and families across all walks of life.

🏡 Housing
We provide essential resources and programs to help individuals and families find stable housing, make informed home-buying decisions, and maintain their homes. Whether you are looking to buy a home, avoid foreclosure, make home improvements, or explore HUD homes, we offer the guidance and support needed for every step of the housing journey. Our specialized services also cater to senior citizens, veterans, and individuals facing homelessness, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the assistance they deserve.
⚖️ Fairness
Ensuring fairness in housing is at the heart of our mission. We work to combat housing discrimination, promote fair lending practices, and provide resources for persons with disabilities to access safe and suitable housing. Our commitment to equity helps create an inclusive housing landscape where everyone has a fair chance to secure and maintain stable living conditions.

🏢 Rental Assistance
Finding affordable rental housing can be challenging, but our programs help connect individuals with the right opportunities. We offer support through the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), assistance in searching for an apartment, and access to housing counseling agencies for expert guidance. Additionally, we ensure that rental properties meet quality standards through the REAC Property and Unit Inspection program.
🌱 Climate
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we support climate-conscious housing solutions through the Climate Action Plan, initiatives focused on environment and energy, and local climate action efforts. Our goal is to ensure that housing development aligns with environmental sustainability, reducing the carbon footprint and promoting greener communities.

📊 Research
Access to up-to-date research and data is crucial for informed decision-making. We provide housing research and data sets, resources on coronavirus-related housing support, and information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to promote transparency and knowledge-sharing.
🏛️ Working with HUD
Collaboration is key to achieving housing stability and development. We partner with HUD to support initiatives such as EnVision Centers, which provide comprehensive services for economic empowerment. We also offer information on grants, HUD job opportunities, and contracting opportunities with HUD, helping individuals and organizations engage with federal housing programs effectively.
